About me

I am Clare Osborn, an ex professional turned  life and mindfulness coach with a passioon for ocean conservation.  I am also a scuba diver, a paddler, a podcast host and speaker.  My main passion is the all the health and wellbeing of others and the natural world, adventure, the ocean and all benefits they bring.

I have seen first hand the issues our ocean is facing and had to do something about it. The seas, oceans and waterways are like a sanctuary for me, a reset button that has been vital for my sanity and my mental health.  Our world's blue has so many benefits for our mental and physical wellbeing, it seems a no brainer to do something to protect it.

We rely on the worlds blue for the air that we breathe and so it is not an optional extra for us.  Yet we have polluted, plundered and disrespected our oceans for long enough.  The imaginary 'away' is coming back to bite us on the bum.  I absolutely believe that we protect what we love and so I want to share my love for our waters in the hope that you will fall in love with it too.  And with that love, you want to protect it as much as I do.

Together we can create a wave of change.

I spent 15 years in the legal profession and so am in a unique position having knowledge and understanding of a range of businesses, as well as being passionate about sustainability and the natural world.

I now combine the skills I honed in the corporate world, with those from ocean outreach, coaching, mindfulness and communication tools.  This gives me a vast set of skills to help you to live a life you love sustainably or create a sustainable and supportive work environment, school or project.

My ocean conservation journey started by volunteering on a turtle conservation project in Costa Rica in 2012. Since then, I have become a huge advocate for the ocean.

Mindfulness and Life Coach, Speaker and Ocean Advocate

I changed direction to follow my passion for conservation and empowering positive behaviour change. I now bring my unique set of skills into my work as a Mindfulness and Life Coach, Podcast Host and Speaker.  I am the co-founder of the  #PaddleCleanup campaign, working with British Canoeing and the National Sea Scouts to empower paddlers to facilitate positive change in their communities.

Despite only taking up paddle sports in 2017, I have now completed 3 groundbreaking expeditions to raise awareness of plastic in the environment including the width of England, length of Wales and remote Scottish Islands.  I work collaboratively to redirect that waste from landfill including the worlds first marine plastic kayaks, fabric which appeared on Jodi Kidd in London Fashion Week in February 2019 and has been used in various community and art projects and campaigns.

As the campaign manager for the public outreach and education not for profit Incredible Oceans - Whalefest, I have reached a huge audience with the message about plastic solutions and created a unique network of projects working on these issues.

This inspired me to launch the Clare Talks Rubbish Podcast to provide a voice for every day heroes and their inspiring stories.

As a coach, I work with teams and individuals to create positive change, using an extensive toolkit of processes and advice for living and working sustainably and building better relationships with ourselves and others.  I use my adventure stories to encourage people to live outside the status quo, to push boundaries for personal growth and create fun and engaging workshops and team / community experiences.
